First and foremost, and perhaps also most notably, Liam “MaiL09” Tügel has returned to the active roster after the summer break, taking the wheel in place of Isak “isak” Fahlén who decided not to renew his contract and take a break from competitive CS. Isak played a monumental role not only in the Counter-Strike team but in Metizport as a whole. He was a stabilizer, a mature and down to earth person both inside and outside the server – the necessary cornerstone of any CS team. During the 24-year-old’s duty in our jersey, lasting for over one-and-a-half years, Isak took part in some of our biggest feats in Counter-Strike, like making it to the Austin Major in 2025.

The Swede also raised silver trophies in Galaxy Battle Starter, Svenska Cupen 2025, BC Game Masters Season 1, De_Airport Masters and ROG Journey Summer 2026, as well as a gold in European Pro League S6. We will forever be thankful for the work Isak put down while representing the team, a task he always fulfilled with consistency and professionalism, no questions asked.
Going back to MaiL09, the youngster reunited with Metizport at a week-long bootcamp in Sandefjord, Norway, where we had the pleasure of utilizing our partner Komplett.no’s world-class facilities. There Liam and the team made sure to get a better understanding of what needs to be worked on, modifying the team structure to properly accommodate the 17-year-old in the role that fits him best.

In Sandefjord, our players took part in plenty of fun media activities, a workshop with our health and performance partner Maysun, and, of course, a whole lot of practicing. The first tournament after the bootcamp was $60,000 Stake Pulse Beat 1 in Stockholm, and the result was definitely not to anyone’s liking. Our squad failed to make it out of the Group Stage and exited the competition on the first day. Since we were also going to the Esports World Cup Qualifier in Paris the following weekend, Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz and the team stayed in Stockholm to lick their wounds and try to highlight what went wrong, before flying to France. We hoped to put up a better result in the French capital, with a chance of making it to the main EWC event with $2,000,000 in prize money, but unfortunately didn’t make it out of the Group Stag there either.
The following month will include a lot of internal talks with the team on how to improve, as well as plenty of online competition. $20,000 Exort Fiesta Series 1 on August 27-30th is already confirmed, where we have been invited directly to the Playoffs. We’ve also been given a spot in the Closed Qualifier of Logitech G Connect 2026, a $100,000 LAN tournament in Poland, also commencing on August 27.
After almost exactly a year in Metizport, our (now former) Assistant Coach Miguel “ner0” Videira decided to try his wings elsewhere. Miguel accompanied the roster to almost every LAN event, getting to see cities like Philadelphia, Bucharest, Åre, Stockholm and Oslo during his rotation in the team. He worked under two of our Head Coaches, Abdi and vinS, and gave tactical insight to help the squad toward achievements such as silver medals at Svenska Cupen 2025, De_Airport Masters, ROG Journey Summer 2026, BC Game Masters Season 1, and lastly a first place finish in European Pro League Season 6.

To the victor belong the spoils! Long-standing Metizport player Nicolas “Plopski” Gonzalez Zamora has extended his contract with us for another year, looking to lengthen his list of achievements carrying our flag. So far, the 24-year-old Swede has helped the team secure three gold and six silver medals since he joined over two years ago in May 2024. Nicolas is an important piece to our Counter-Strike puzzle, bringing a lot of energy and creativity to the team. Having now reunited with fellow countryman MaiL09, we’re beyond excited for the upcoming year!

Metizport’s YouTube has grown from 1000 to over 12000 subscribers in three weeks. Our most recent vlog, “The Rise of Metizport” highlighting our run at ROG Journey Summer 2026 in Jönköping, seems to be leading the way and has racked up over 30,000 views, with a lot of positive feedback coming our way. The videography and editing is the work of our new Creative Producer, Torstein, who has joined Metizport on a full-time basis to strengthen the creative storytelling around everything we do.

Last week we announced that we are releasing our Brawl Stars team, pausing the operations for the remainder of the season. Nemanja “Decaii” Mitrovic , Jovan “Ćiro” Cirovic and Leonardo “Quinaia” Morente Quinaia are no longer under any contractual obligations to Metizport. After over four months representing the organization, most notably making it to June’s EMEA Monthly Finals, they have been released and are free to explore other paths in their careers.
We entered Brawl Stars in March by signing Serbians Decaii, Ćiro and Remica of CMM, kickstarting our presence in our first mobile game title. After Remica was released in May, the duo of Decaii and Ćiro continued and qualified to their first Monthly Final together with German youngster Coverz. However, since Coverz was deemed not eligible to play, Decaii and Ćiro were instead joined by Swiss nemesis LeNain and the three of them traveled to Germany to play the $42,000 tournament. Even though they were unable to stir things around much in the Monthly Finals, losing 0-3 to Totem in the opening round, it was still a historical moment for Metizport that we believe was a great achievement for our pilot year in the title.

After a failed attempt at making it to July’s Monthly Finals as well, we spoke to the team and came to the conclusion that parting ways was the best way forward, offering a way for the two Serbians to trial with other teams if they wish, as well as for Quinaia to continue his analytical work in other organizations. All in all, despite us not reaching the results we had hoped for together, we want to thank them for their time under Metizport, and wish them the best of luck going forward! We will now evaluate the 2026 season internally, and hope to give you more news about our future in Brawl Stars in the upcoming months.
To be clear, this is not the end of our Brawl Stars journey. We still believe in this game. Massive player base, incredible fans, huge potential.
