Yesterday’s match versus Sangal was an incredible nailbiter, a series that went to all three maps, each as even as the other. Sangal’s map pick, Cache, went our way with a 16-14 scoreline, a nice upset that put Metizport Epicbet in a favorable position in the best-of-three matchup.
On Nuke, it was equally as tight and despite a very promising looking situation towards the end, captain Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz and co. were ultimately unable to close out the map and the opponents ran off with a 19-17 final score.
On the last map of Mirage, the match did not need to go to overtime, however we were still neck and neck with Sangal all the way until the end – the map unfortunately ended 11-13 for us, and thus we had lost out on the opportunity of going to Barcelona for the LAN $100,000 event.
However, the result still shows an important improvement for the team, taking into consideration Sangal is significantly higher than us on the global ranking. Metizport Epicbet’s AWPer, David “forsyy” Bílý, said after the match: “Overall we played pretty good. If we keep up our energy and will to win, it’s gonna be nice for our results.“
Now the team will rest for two days before jumping up on the horse again – on Sunday they play their opening match in $30,000 NODWIN Clutch Series #13. We’re also locked in for our next LAN event, which will take place between October 30th and November 1st in Lisbon, Portugal. The tournament, called HyperX Retake Season 13 will feature 13 teams and a $13,650 prize pool. More information on that coming soon!
