Metizport’s new roster in immediate action next week

Yesterday BLAST announced the full team list for their upcoming tournament, BLAST Bounty Spring 2025: Closed Qualifier, where 32 teams have been invited to compete for spots in the BLAST Bounty Spring 2025 LAN Finals that will take place in Copenhagen January 23-26.

Using a new and unique format, BLAST will not be inviting any teams to the Finals but rather have them all compete for spots regardless of ranking. With this being said, it is safe to say the team list for the upcoming Closed Qualifier starting on the 14th of January is packed!

Metizport have been invited and will join top teams such as G2, NaVi, Vitality, Spirit, FaZe, Falcons, Liquid, FURIA, and many, many more, in a six-day battle for a total of 8 spots in the LAN Finals.

However, this tournament will have a rather unique format never seen before in a professional Counter-Strike competition.

Using the Valve Global Ranking system, the teams have all been given different seeds based on their ranking on the specific date of December 2, 2024 – the higher the ranking, the higher the seed. Using these seeds teams will be given different starting bounties for the tournament; G2, being the highest seeded team, will be getting a $60,000 bounty. Other teams with this bounty include NaVi, Spirit and Vitality.

Depending then on the seeding, the other teams may have bounties of $30,000, $20,000, $15,000 and lastly $0.

Now, just like in the Wild West, the higher the bounty, the more prestigious it is to take them down. This is BLAST’s main idea with the Bounty system – the lowest seeded teams with a $0 bounty have to go hunting. They get to pick their opponents above them in ranking, and if they beat them, they inherit their seed. Taking all this into account, the format allows for not only upsets, but also a hefty reward for the teams that do beat their overlords.

Metizport along with 15 other teams have been given a $0 bounty following the Valve Global Rankings, but Metizport will also be going in as the lowest possible seed of these $0 bounty 16 teams.

We will be taking hold of this opportunity either way, keeping in mind that from the bottom, there is only one way to go – up. This will be a hard tournament for us this early in the new year, but we are ready for the challenge.

While the tournament officially starts on the 14th, the first draw of matches will already begin today at 11:00 CET. If you would like to read more about the format, you can learn everything on BLAST’s website. Stay updated on our socials for our upcoming matches in the tournament – this will be a lot of fun.
