Metizport X to attend offline event Level Up LUND!

Our Academy team, Metizport X, will travel to Lund in April to attend their second LAN event as a team.

Level Up LUND!, a 60,000 SEK (~$6,000) LAN event in the Southernmost of Sweden, has received an overwhelming amount of hype after the team list kept getting filled up with top tier teams.

One of the first very notable teams signing up to the event was Ninjas in Pyjamas, and it didn’t take long for other squads all over Europe to get a hunch of the offline event. Looking at the team list now, one can spot many good line-ups such as 9INE, EYEBALLERS, Tricked, Preasy, Alliance, Astralis Talent, and many more.

The reason an open, rather small-scaled event like this receives so much attention is because of it’s ranked status. Now that the VRS-ranking holds such an importance for teams, a lot of organisations are looking for ways to boost their Counter-Strike team’s ranking, and winning a ranked event can make a massive difference, especially for teams who are in the so-called “trench” where they are just narrowly missing out on prestigious invites due to their ranking.

Originally we intended for the main team to attend the event, but because of a very tight schedule for Hampus “hampus” Poser’s men around that time, we had to rethink. Emil “ZapR” Marcussen and his Metizport X happened to have a more loose schedule and didn’t even give us time to blink – they were ready to represent Metizport in what will likely be Sweden’s most prestigious offline event in 2025.

Level Up LUND! features 24 spots and, as mentioned before, a 60,000 SEK prize pool which will be distributed among the top three teams. It will run from April 12 to April 13, with a Group Stage commencing on the first day and the Playoffs scheduled for the second.

Esports Coordinator Jakob “DEFENSE” Jansson had this to say:

“Everyone in management agreed that it made sense to send the Academy team down. In 2025 Metizport X took a step out on the international market, and opportunities like these can make big impact in their progress, getting a chance to play versus really good teams in a LAN setting. It’s also great for the team dynamic, for their foundation, and strengthens them to stay together in what I usually describe as a pretty up-and-down online environment. We’re excited to have them represent us in Lund!”
