Metizport sign ShadoW as Valorant Head Coach

As of today it’s official that 29-year-old Tobias “ShadoW” Flodström from Sweden has been appointed as the new Head Coach of our Valorant department.

Having looked for a coach for our Valorant department since the 5-man European squad led by Mathias “SEIDER” Seider signed with us in January, we can finally announce we have found a fitting personality for the role.

ShadoW has many years of professional play in Valorant alone, having competed holding flags of teams like FunPlus Phoenix, Team Vitality, Giants, Apeks and KOI. After parting ways with KOI in January, Flodström decided that coaching was the next step in his career, and we in Metizport are very proud of being his new home for 2025, where the Swede can take on his new role not only with style, but alongside a talented mix of players and an experienced management.

Flodström also has high-tier experience in Counter-Strike, a game he persued up until 2020 and which now works as an excellent foundation for his overall competitive understanding. In Counter-Strike, ShadoW competed both within the Nordic region and internationally, and it’s in the former scene that he had most success.

The timing of ShadoW‘s signing comes at a perfect time as our Valorant team is getting ready to attend Challengers 2025 EMEA starting next week, with their first match happening on the 4th of March against Mandatory.

Morten “zEVES” Vollan Christensen, Sports Director in Metizport and key figure in awakening the Valorant department again in 2025, had this to say about the signing:

After a long search for the right coach, we have finally found the missing piece of the puzzle. Despite this being Tobias’ first season in a coaching role, his experience and achievements leave no doubt about his tactical expertise, strategic mindset, and ability to lead and inspire. With this signing, I am confident that we can take this project even closer to our goal and reach new heights.

Additionally, Tobias himself also shares a few lines about how he feels going into 2025 with Metizport:

I would like to thank the Metizport staff and the players for trusting me to lead the team throughout this year. I joined this project because I believe we can achieve great things together. Although I’ve only been with the team for just over a week, I can confidently say that both the players and the organization are highly dedicated to showcasing their potential as individuals and as a team. This is my first time being part of a project as a head coach, and I am committed to doing everything I can to help them grow, not only as players but also as people, both inside and outside of the game. I look forward to bringing my years of experience to help them reach their fullest potential. Looking ahead, my expectations for this year are clear: First, to qualify for Ascension, and second, to be strong contenders for the VCT spot. I’m excited for what lies ahead and confident in our ability to achieve these goals.
