Metizport secure top 4 in Svenska Cupen 2025
November 13, 2025

Metizport’s Counter-Strike team has taken down megoshort in the Decider game of Svenska Cupen 2025, securing semi-finals and top 4 in the 300,000 SEK tournament.

It was a rocky start for the recently completed roster on the first map of Ancient in the Decider match of Svenska Cupen. The rounds kept slipping away from the team’s hands and all of a sudden, after a failed 1v2 clutch attempt from Tim “nawwk” Jonasson, the enemy team was in the lead with 12-10, one round away from taking the first map.

But after a tactical timeout (taken by megoshort) Head Coach Vincent “vinS” Jozefiak was able to calm down his men and get them back in the groove, enough to take the last two rounds and take it to overtime. Adding onto the 12-12 situation, each team was able to collect rounds and eventually it was Metizport 14, megoshort 14, as Metizport were about to play out the last two rounds on the defending side. Having had enough, Liam “MaiL09” Tügel made a risky aggressive play on the B-site, dismantling the attacking side with two kills in quick succession. Falling back to a more defensive position, and with the help of Nikola “Dragon” Boskovic, he got his third kill of the round as the enemies pushed toward the site, securing the 15th round for his team. As the score was now 15-14, megoshort had everything to lose and responded with a push out middle, but Isak “isak” Isak stopped it dead on with an m4 burst through the smoke. The opposing team then decided to finish towards the B-site once again, but it was no match for MaiL09 and isak, who got the last three frags and closed down the first map.

MaiL09’s aggressive play in overtime was crucial for the team’s victory

On Nuke, it was a completely different story. megoshort won the pistol round, but Metizport decided to force buy and take ramp control, a decision which proved to be the right move. Slowly but surely, with control over a crucial part of the map, they plucked down the enemies one and one and ruined the economy of megoshort. After that, it was a combined team effort – every player played their part and assembled a total of 9 rounds on the T-side of Nuke. Now playing as defenders, an outside rush from the opponents was not a problem at all, and it was picked up with ease after nawwk shut down the remaining two players as they tried to wrap behind enemy lines. megoshort were unable to string together a single round after that, and Metizport ran away with a 2-0 win to secure the spot in the semifinals tomorrow.

The remainder of the tournament will be played out in front of a live audience in a different venue, Musikaliska in Stockholm, a historical building usually hosting live music appearances. Alliance and Johnny Speeds have already secured their tickets together with Metizport, and the last team will be decided tonight in a match between EYEBALLERS and Southern Lights. Metizport will play versus Johnny Speeds tomorrow evening, either at 18:00 or 21:00 CET.

For now, the team rests and enjoys the rest of the evening. Tomorrow they will have plenty of time to prepare for the opening match on stage.

Thanks everyone for the support so far! See you tomorrow!
