Metizport receive double invite to prestigious tournaments; to play OG this afternoon for a Major spot

Our Counter-Strike team is currently one best-of-three match away from qualifying to the $1,25M Major in Austin this summer. Furthermore, they have received two prestigious invites to impactful online tournaments.

Metizport’s major run began yesterday, as they took on B8 in a best-of-one game at 10:00 in the morning. Heavily one-sided, Ahmed “abdi” Abdi and his brethren were able to take down the opponents easily with a 13-7 scoreline. Later that day, at 17:30, they faced BC Game Esports, and that match ended up playing out in a similar fashion – 13-8, and all of a sudden Metizport were up 2-0 in the European Regional Qualifier, one match away from making it to Stage 1 of the Major. This afternoon, at 16:00 CEST, they play OG in a best-of-three, and the winner goes straight to the major!

In addition, the main team has received invites to two important tournaments – $300,000 YaLLa Compass Qatar 2025 (that will now be played online) and Svenska CS-ligan, the online qualifier for $100,000 Nordic Championship 2025 in Finland that will take place in May. Metizport originally tried to qualify for YaLLa Compass Qatar 2025 when it was still set to be played out on LAN, but fell short after three tough losses in the group stage. However, as the event was moved online and due to poor timing with the Major Regional Qualifier, many teams withdrew from the tournament and left plenty of room for other squads to replace them, Metizport included. We gladly accepted the invite!

As for Svenska CS-ligan, the online qualifier will essentially feature eight teams – four invited and four qualified from previous Open Qualifiers. Metizport, being the highest ranked team in Sweden by far, were given a direct invite to the “league” together with EYEBALLERS, Lilmix and Alliance. In this competition there will be two groups of four, where the top two teams make it to a Single-Elimination Playoffs, and from there both Grand Finalists will make it to the LAN event in Finland. The Nordic Championship is an important tournament for us – we became Swedish and Norwegian Champions in 2024 after great performances from Metizport and Metizport X, and now we’re looking at conquering the Nordic – it’s only natural!

YaLLa Compass Qatar 2025 will commence on April 17. Svenska CS-ligan begins on April 26. And, as previously mentioned, we play for a Major spot today at 16:00 CEST.
