It was a bit of an uphill battle for our 2025 Valorant squad in the Playoffs of the €15,000 online tournament. Previously, in the Upper Swiss Stage, SEIDER and co. had gone 3-0 and finished 2nd on the leaderboard, but in the Playoffs things shifted and the opening match there saw Metizport go up against Team Liquid Academy, a match that ended 1-2.
After immediately getting knocked down into the Lower Bracket, Metizport made the most out of what was left and won two matches in a row before sitting in the Lower Bracket Semifinals where they faced Enterprise Esports. And this is where the tournament run ended for them – a 0-2 scoreline knocked them out of the competition on 4th place.
Still, it had been enough to secure a spot in Stage 1 of VALORANT Challengers 2025 EMEA (awarded to top 4), a tournament that will run from March 3rd to March 9th. Here, the attending teams will be able to collect the much needed Ascension points – 1st place gets 7, 2nd gets 5, 3rd gets 4, 4th gets 3, and 5-8th get 1. The Ascension points are used to determine which teams qualify to the upcoming, much bigger tournament VCT EMEA Ascension 2025.
Our Valorant squad now has a little over a week to prepare for EMEA. With the 4th place finish in Stage 1 of NORTH//EAST, they also secure their spot in the next stage of the same tournament, starting on the 21st of March.
