Metizport claim silver medal and $6,000 in Galaxy Battle 2025 Starter

The main team fell short in the Grand Finals of the $30,000 tournament against Aurora Gaming.

Metizport had received a direct invite to the Playoffs and began their run there against Fire Flux Esport, a match that ended 2-0 in their favor. Next up, GUN5, which turned out to be quite a nailbiter – a 2-1 victory for Metizport after they stole the last map in a 13-10 fashion.

In the semifinals Danish ECSTATIC waited, but they were unable to put up much of a fight – two comfortable maps for Metizport and all of a sudden Hampus “hampus” Poser’s powerhouse stood before Aurora in the Grand Finals.

In the last match of the tournament, Metizport struggled. After a rough 2-13 loss on the first map, Anubis, they managed to reset and come back stronger on the second map of Mirage, where they ran away with a 13-10 scoreline. Unfortunately, after that the all-Swedish line-up failed to claim any more territory, and lost the remaining two maps on Ancient and Nuke.

Still, the silver medal and $6,000 in prize money is the best result the new, revamped roster with hampus and isak has seen since its forming. It is also the best result Metizport in general has had since December last year, where our squad managed a second place finish in Wildz Invitational which awarded them a little over $6,500.

Alongside the three match wins in Galaxy Battle, Metizport played the European Qualifier for PGL Astana 2025 at the same time, in which they racked up four wins consecutively. The victories in both tournaments added up to a seven match winstreak, which had a massive impact on the European ranking – one more week remains before invites are sent out to the Major Regional Qualifiers, and the success in these two tournaments for Metizport means they climbed well into the vicinities of receiving an invite.

In the PGL Astana 2025 Qualifier, Metizport is still alive – in 20 minutes, at 16:00 CEST, they face off against Ninjas in Pyjamas for a spot in the $625,000 Kazakhstani tournament in May. See the “Matches” tab on this website – it will direct you straight to the game.
