Metizport claimed the silver medal yesterday in Svenska Cupen 2025 after falling to Alliance in the Grand Finals.

In last year’s Svenska Cupen, we beat Ninjas in Pyjamas 3-0 in the Grand Finals and became the best Counter-Strike team in Sweden. This year, we lose 0-3 versus Alliance in the final match, but we are nothing but proud of the performance with such a newly formed team. With the circumstances having surrounded our roster, the silver medal is a very clear sign that we’re heading in the right direction.

After mowing down Johnny Speeds in the semifinals, we went into the Grand Finals versus Alliance, the current highest ranked team in Sweden, with confidence. Captain Jack “Jackinho” Ström Mattsson and the rest of the crew would play out the last game of the tournament, where the winner would take home 150,000 SEK (~$15,874), on Inferno, Overpass and Ancient.

It was an uphill battle, however, and every half of every map ended in a deficit for our boys. Still, they made every attempt at clawing their way back into each game. For example, on the last map of Ancient, Nikola “Dragon” Boskovic aced in the pistol round, winning a one-versus-four clutch to give his boys momentum in the second half. But in the end, Alliance came out on the winning side, claiming every map for themselves. The end results were 9-13 on Inferno, 7-13 on Overpass and 7-13 on Ancient.

Today marks the end of a 10-day tour for the team in Sweden, having combined RedBull GIBAWAY Journey in Åre and Svenska Cupen in the same trip. The squad will travel back home, take some well deserved rest, and then head back out to Stockholm again on November 27 for DreamHack Knockout 2025.
