After the rain comes the sun – “The latest and greatest from Metizport”

“Wake me up when September ends”? Absolutely not – we’re wide awake! We’re ready to officially welcome the fall season into the organization, but first we would like to go through the past month’s developments. Join us!

Locked in for a $100,000 LAN in Warsaw!

Last weekend, thanks to an incredible individual performance from David “forsyy” Bílý, the Counter-Strike team won the Closed Qualifiers for Logitech G Connect 2026 and are therefore confirmed for the main event in Warsaw later this month. It was a rather slow start for the boys, almost exiting the tournament in the Group Stage but rolling up their sleeves last minute and advancing with a 2-1 W/L ratio. In the Playoffs, the previous instability seemed to have vaporized and with forsyy leading the way, the squad didn’t lose a single map for the remainder of the tournament.

After beating Walczaki 2-0 in Ro16, Sashi 2-0 in the quarterfinals, and lastly 9INE 2-0 in the semifinals, the ticket to the Polish capital had been secured, much obliged to Head Coach Vincent “vinS” Jozefiak. “Qualifiers are designed to win, not to play beautiful CS. We didnt play perfectly, but we’re getting there.” he said after the qualification.

The qualification and plow-through of the qualifier has given us a significant boost on the ranking, now sitting on 61st on the global VRS. In Warsaw, our team will face off against teams such as GamerLegion, NiP, B8, Luminosity, Liquid and EYEBALLERS, and as mentioned before, $100,000 will be up for grabs.

First gold of the fall season!

On August 20th we secured our first gold of the 2026 fall season, as the Counter-Strike team had a dream run through ESL Challenger League S52 Cup, topping the group and then besting the opponents in the quarter- and semifinals, before standing before OG Esports in the Grand Finals.

This match might go down in history as one of Metizport’s most legendary comebacks – and not to forget, at such an important stage in the tournament – as on the first map in the best-of-three series we managed to make a full comeback from 3-12 down, closing out the match 16-14. While the second map slipped out of our hands, it all came down on the third and final map of Nuke, where captain and in-game leader Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz had two incredible clutches to lead the team to victory.

At the 8-8 mark, the Canadian miraculously won a one-versus-five situation to keep his men in the game, and then at match point, 12-11, he denied OG a chance to take the clash to overtime as he clutched out a seemingly unwinnable one-versus-four afterplant, securing the match and the trophy for the team. Aside from $4,000 and important points for the ranking, the tournament win also gave us a spot in the Regional Finals in December, where we’ll have the chance to qualify into ESL Pro League.

As historical as the comeback was, we just had to make a video of the match with the voice comms of our players. Now you are able to experience it from our players’ perspectives and feel the raw emotions that come with every tight match in professional Counter-Strike.

Stepping up the game of storytelling

On the topic of YouTube, we’ve really stepped up our content game in case you’ve missed it. Thanks to the work of our Creative Producer Torstein, we’ll be releasing a full vlog for almost every big LAN event we attend – for example Stake Pulse Beat 1 and Esports World Cup 2026 Qualifier in Stockholm and Paris – where you can gain a lot of insight into the team’s current situation, and hear it from the players’ perspectives. Aside from the tournament vlogs, there’s more casual content on display such as a

one-versus-one challenge between players done at our latest bootcamp in Norway.

Currently sitting on 12,300 subscribers, we are extremely happy to be able to provide our followers with such high-level content, bringing more awareness to esports and offering a unique perspective on this very eventful, but also sometimes challenging business.

The Esports World Cup Qualifiers

In last month’s article, we had just come out of Stake Pulse Beat 1 in Stockholm with a very disappointing result, and hoped to do better in Paris at the Esports World Cup 2026 Qualifiers. While the tournament started off well for us, with a 2-0 victory against Prestige and then two close maps against much higher ranked Team Liquid (that ended 9-13 & 10-13), stanislaw and his crew were unable to find proper form and lost in the rematch against Prestige, once again failing to make it out of the groups. It was crushing, but everyone believed the form would get better if the team was given more time to practice together. And it was rather obvious that both the form and team spirit improved the following weeks, as the boys stood victorious in ECL a mere 12 days later.

Was the ECL victory enough for vinS to make up for the Paris flop?

It is very clear that the team still needs work, however, and that they are nowhere near where they want to be yet. “We just haven’t figured out how to play with this lineup” Nicolas “Plopski” Gonzalez Zamora said in an interview, where we learn more about the team’s situation from the Swede’s perspective, as well as how it has been for the 24-year-old to reunite with countryman Liam “MaiL09” Tügel.

The past month has offered various online competition, but soon it’s time to head out on the road again in mid-September, as Metizport Epicbet are, aside from the LAN in Warsaw, also confirmed for €11,000 Tipsport Open Cup in Prague, a 12-team tournament in the Czech capital. After two bad defeats in the latest LAN attendances, we really hope to bring out a better performance this time around!

Nikola “Dragon” Boskovic has been released from the organization following a mutual agreement. The 26-year-old Serb joined Metizport back in October 2025, becoming the first non-Swedish player to join the roster in the organization’s CS2 history. Shortly after, it was also announced that vinS joined the troop as the Head Coach, and Metizport’s first international Counter-Strike project was born.

With Dragon and his aggressive playstyle, the team had notable finishes in Svenska Cupen 2025, De_Airport Masters and BC Game Masters Season 1, all second place finishes to add three new trophies to Metizport’s tally. However, following difficulties finding a firm team structure and issues with role overlaps, he was moved away from the starting five in April this year. Dragon brought a lot of energy both inside and outside the server, as well as a unique perspective on the many aspects of competitive Counter-Strike from his background in the Serbian scene. We sincerely want to thank him for his professionalism and commitment to our project. All the best to you, Nikola, and good luck in the future!

POP0V joins as the new Assistant Coach

Kaloyan “POP0V” Popov has linked up with Metizport as the new Assistant Coach!

The 28-year-old Bulgarian comes with extensive coaching experience from his time in 500, where he spent almost two years as both a Head Coach and Assistant Coach. As the Head Coach, he led the team to several notable results, most notably claiming two gold medals in big tournaments. On duty as an Assistant Coach the last six months of his stay in the organization, Popov worked alongside former Metizport In-game leader Hampus “hampus” Poser.

Kaloyan has already been with stanislaw and the team since the start of August, helping the squad remotely while they were in Stockholm and Paris for Stake Pulse Beat 1 and the Esports World Cup Qualifier. The Bulgarian also took part in two of our recent major achievements – qualifying for $100,000 Logitech G Connect 2026 in Warsaw, as well as winning ESL Challenger League S52 Cup. Now we can happily announce that POP0V has signed a two-season agreement until June 2027, uniting with vinS to complete the team’s coaching staff, and will from here on play a valuable role in providing the men with tactical insight alongside the Pole.
