A brilliant conclusion of 2025 – “The latest and greatest from Metizport”
December 22, 2025

After an action-packed November, things have been quiet in terms of active competition, but in the organization there has certainly been “no rest for the wicked”.

Metizport was present at the Counter-Strike Major in Budapest where CCO Perry Smith, Commercial Director Herman & CEO Arjan had clinched their own skybox. Watching the thrilling Major matches was only one of many things they did in Hungary – high-quality networking, planning for next year, and content creation was also on the menu. Herman darted around the event on the hunt for interesting personalities to talk to. And speaking of “interesting personalities”, did you miss our case opening with Counter-Strike legend Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev?

DreamHack Stockholm

Metizport took part in several activities at DreamHack Stockholm in the last weekend of November. The Counter-Strike team attended the $10,000 “Knockout” tournament but fell short and were eliminated on the first day. Still, it wasn’t the end of the world for the squad after showing good form in the two previous events the same month – they had still seen a massive ascend in Metizport’s global ranking – and furthermore, there were other activities waiting for the players at the festival. Firstly, Metizport’s youngster Liam “MaiL09” Tügel was interviewed by FACEIT after the massive feat of becoming the highest ranked player in the world on their platform. The video has now been released and can be seen below.

AndaSeat, a partner of Metizport’s, had their own booth in the Expo Hall where they hosted a thrilling 1v1 challenge against our players, “King of the Hill”, where the contestant with the most consecutive wins could claim their very own Metizport chair. We also had a “meet & greet” session where we signed pictures and interacted with fans and visitors. All in all the activities created queues, energy and non stop engagement, so it was a great success!

Additionally, Metizport’s Herman Leikanger and Thomas Sæves were also part of Lenovo & Intel’s booth, making sure the visitors had a superb time. Attendants had the opportunity to take part in tournaments & challenges, test the latest from Lenovo, interact with the team, and more. In the end, the booth won “Best Booth Design of the Year” for the second year in a row, thanks to an amazing production from Archetype and EDGE Design & Technology. We are happy to have contributed to the overall experience!

Last week MaiL09 headed to Switzerland and Logitech’s headquarters together with CEO Arjan and CCO Perry . Liam engaged in media activities and workshops, tested out new gear and took part in surveys to improve products. Though it was only for two days, the stay in Lausanne was packed with productivity and invaluable interactions for all three Metizport members. Thanks Logitech for having us!

Metizport’s local initiatives never stop!

Drive-in Cinema

We love to bring people together and give back to the local community. On December 9th, we hosted a Drive-in Cinema in Myrvåg, Norway, showing two movies in the evening and lighting up the gloomy environment with a holiday spirit. In the end 113 cars and over 350 visitors came by, which is an amazing outcome! A big thanks to Fosnavåg Kino, Moldskred Renovasjon AS, and all the sponsors who helped bring this to life.

New Gaming Centre

Metizport and Liv og Røre have established a brand new gaming centre inside Liv og Røre at AMFI Moa shopping mall in Ålesund, Norway – “Metizport Moa”! This is another important step in our commitment to creating venues for gamers of all ages. The gaming centre will be a social, inclusive and professional arena – whether you are a gamer, fan, parent, professional club, business or simply just curious what esports and gaming is all about! “We want to be a driving force to lift gaming and esports in Norway” says Metizport’s CEO Arjan.

The venue officially opens on January 5th, 2026!

Metizport wins “Ungdommens Kulturpris” (The Youth Cultural Award)

We were awarded the “Youth Cultural Award” in Herøy Municipality on December 11th! This is a great recognition for us and another sign that we are definitely on the right path with our local initiatives. The jury’s reasoning emphasized that the prize is awarded to an actor who has established an arena where community and inclusion is central.
In our premises of Myrvåg, Metizport has built up a wide esports offering where young people can gather several days a week. We are also behind Sunnmørsligaen, a local esports league. In addition, Metizport offers free access to its activities for refugees.

The Mayor of Herøy highlighted our national cooperation with MOT, an organisation working towards strengthening youth’s robustness and quality of life, and stated that through our professional esports environment we have helped to put the municipality of Herøy on the map.

What about the Counter-Strike team?

Lastly, a little update on the Counter-Strike roster. December has been a quiet month in terms of competition, but behind the scenes a lot of work is being done in order to field a strong and competitive squad for next year. Already officialized, Tim “nawwk” Jonasson is parting ways with the team at December’s end after a short stint under our banner. Tim signed a short-term contract with Metizport prior to our “Sweden tour” at the end of October, and traveled with the team to three different tournaments: JOURNEY 2025, Svenska Cupen 2025 and DreamHack Knockout Stockholm 2025. In Svenska Cupen Jonasson helped the team secure a silver medal and 70,000 SEK, and thanks to great results in Stockholm and the tournament prior, JOURNEY 2025 in Åre, they climbed 50 spots on the global ranking.

As 2026 is knocking on the door, we’re close to finding a new AWPer to step into nawwk’s shoes and hope to present the line-up in full capacity as soon as possible. But for now, the crew takes a break as the ship quietly sails into the harbor for a holiday break.

nawwk’s stay in Metizport was short but impactful

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! ❄️

Thanks to everyone who has supported and cheered us on in 2025. Metizport keeps growing every year, and we wouldn’t have been able to do it without all of you! 💚
