Winning both on and off the server – “The latest and greatest from Metizport”
November 7, 2026

As the weather gets gloomier, we keep a light on at all times and continue our adventures in the world of esports. The last month has been filled with both competitive and commercial developments and below you will be able to read up on everything. November is officially here, and winter is around the corner – if you’re feeling cold, welcome into the warmth of one of the Nordic’s leading esports clubs!

Starting with Counter-Strike!

Since last time it’s been a bit up and down for the Counter-Strike team, but overall it’s easy to see a steady improvement in the squad’s form, as the current win rate the past three months is at 63,2%. After raising the trophy in Prague in September, the roster went back home and played the Closed Qualifier for 1win Private Club #2, to which they had received a direct invite. There, they were met with tough opposition right from the start – K27. Despite being underdogs in the matchup, captain Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz made sure his men stood their ground and took the first map of Nuke home with a 13-11 score. However, in the remaining two maps of Mirage and Cache, the boys were unable to hold the opponents back and lost grip of the series, getting eliminated from the qualifier in the first round. A week after they did it again, but in a different tournament qualifier. In the Open Qualifier of Stake Ranked Ep. 6 they won every match with ease and secured their spot in the next stage, the Closed Qualifier. There they kept the good form and took down ex-RUSTEC 2-0 in Ro16 and GenOne in the quarterfinals thereafter, standing on the brink of qualification to the main $100,000 event in Barcelona.

stanislaw and co. were one match away from securing another spot in a $100k event

The qualifying series versus Sangal was nothing but a spectacular performance – both teams were neck and neck all the way, with the first map finishing 16-14 to Metizport, and the second and third map unfortunately finishing 19-17 and 13-11 respectively in favor of Sangal. Thus, Vincent “vinS” Jozefiak and his men had missed out on an opportunity to fly to sunny Barcelona. The Polish Head Coach made sure to highlight that the loss was hard to swallow, especially since the team on the second map had seen several rounds in their favor slip out of their hands. However, he made sure to highlight that his squad’s progress is easy to see, and looked ahead for the upcoming tournaments.

“One of the hardest losses to swallow in my life. Nuke should have been ours, but unfortunately we fell short in the rounds where we had the advantage. Congratulations to our opponent for fully capitalizing on our mistakes. Our progress, however, is plain to see. Starting Sunday, we’ll be playing another online tournament, and on Thursday we’re flying to Lisbon for our next LAN.”

After a brief top-8 finish in NODWIN Clutch Series #13, it was time for the team to fly to Portugal’s capital to once again compete at LAN. HyperX Retake Season 13 featured 13 teams and $13,670 in prize money, and with several top rosters, it was a good opportunity for our troop to showcase the team’s progress the past months. And showcasing it, they certainly did! It was a slow start, though. Maybe the engine wasn’t warm yet. The opening best-of-one match versus SNITKO went all the way to overtime, before our boys could close it out with a 19-16 scoreline. But a win is a win and we moved forward to the Winner’s match, which would be against a much tougher opponent – BC Game Esports.

Plopski was the driving force in the match versus SNITKO

The best-of-three series, where the winner would qualify for the Playoffs, started off with a real mud-crawler of a first map on Nuke. BC Game totally ran our team over with a 13-3 score, and people were already starting to count us out. However, stanislaw and co. were able to reset completely and came back strong on the second map of Mirage, gaining a 12-4 lead without letting the opponents get even a finger into the door. Even though BC Game, on the defending side, managed to mount a bit of a comeback and took five rounds, at 12-9 our boys had had enough and closed out the map on a half-buy round. The score was equalized, and Ancient awaited, where Metizport Epicbet’s 77% winrate filled us with hope. And you could certainly trust the statistics – Maciej “F1KU” Miklas showed the way with a 1.70 rating and led the team to a 13-6 victory, which meant a Playoffs spot was in the bag.

F1KU made sure to let BC Game know which team was better

In the quarterfinals TYLOO waited, but they had already, together with NaVi, given the news that they were forfeiting the match to instead focus on IEM Beijing commencing just two days ahead. The forfeit meant we moved straight ahead to the semifinals, gained some well-needed VRS points from “defeating” the Chinese team, and got a full off-day in Lisbon. Sometimes, you just have to smile and say thank you.

It was in the semifinals the following day that the real test awaited in a matchup with JiJieHao, ranked 29th in the world. Going in as clear underdogs did however not stop our squad from contending all the way, but on the first map of Inferno it looked a bit grim at the 9-12 mark, with JiJieHao on matchpoint. That didn’t stop an ice-cold stanislaw from carrying the team forward with a 1.59 rating at the end of the map, and Metizport Epicbet took the remaining three rounds needed for overtime, calmly gathering the remaining four rounds thereafter and walking away from the first map with a 16-14 score.

On map 2, Mirage, it looked great at halftime as the entire squad had combined efforts to breeze to an 8-4 score, but JiJieHao responded with the same halftime result and another overtime was a fact. Both teams butted each other back and forth until finally JiJieHao had a 17-15 advantage, but once again our Counter-Strike squad refused to give up and took all the remaining rounds with style as they switched to the attacking side – final score 19-17, and only the Grand Finals stood in the way of the trophy now.

The Canadian veteran topped the scoreboard in the series against JiJieHao

WBT’s Academy team had, to everyone’s surprise, beaten Iberian Soul in their side of the bracket and pulled up to the Grand Finals to fight for first place as well. Running us over on Anubis with a 4-13 result, we responded on our own map pick of Cache which ended 13-6, and on the final map of Mirage we started off strong and looked at a 6-3 advantage. But WBT responded incredibly well, equalized the score to 6-6, and in the second half of the game we were completely humbled and gathered merely a single round. Final map score: 7-13.

In the end, a silver medal would have to suffice. It is our fourth silver medal and ninth top 3 tournament finish in 2026. The progress the team has made recently is clear, and it’s only a matter of continuing from here. We streamed our matches from Portugal on our own channels and received a ton of support throughout the journey, so thanks to everyone who came in and cheered for us! The next stop for the team will be online, as we will attend the $25,000 CCT Europe 2026 Series #13 Playoffs starting next week. We’ve also locked in our spot for ROG Journey Winter 2026 starting November 30th in Stockholm, Sweden. It will be our last LAN event of 2026, and we’re hoping for another good performance after two very successful runs in our latest events in Prague and Lisbon.

LANDING: ZONE is coming!

LANDING: ZONE is a comprehensive event concept that brings together esports, gaming culture, content creators and a social meeting place in a professional setting. Developed by Thon Hotels as a long-term investment in gaming and digital entertainment in Norway, Metizport is proud to be a media partner for the event this year. The entire concept is themed around an airport and travel universe, where names, visual identity and experience design work together.

Last year’s LANDING: ZONE was a great success, with external tournaments in Counter-Strike (De_airport Masters) run by Esplay and Smash (Runway Rumble) run by KRED Norge as well as many content creators and gaming enthusiasts gathering under the roof of Thon Hotel Oslo Airport. Now 2027’s edition has been announced for February 25-27 and will follow the same track as last year – there will be a Creator Hub with a dedicated program for streamers, content creators and influencers, a gaming area both for casual and competitive play, and also an exhibition area for brands, partners and exhibitors to showcase products, experiences and innovations.

Content creators from 2026’s event

As media partners, we’re happy to help make 2027’s LANDING: ZONE possible by activating the Expo area, partners, content creators and community competitions. Just like last year, any esports tournaments will be handled fully by external parties.
Strengthening the gaming and esports culture in Norway and giving the community a place to gather and socialize is something Metizport always strive for, but additionally this also helps put Norway on the roadmap internationally, which is awesome!

Pokemon Trade Day – second edition!

We did it again! In collaboration with Liv og Røre and LootLagoon AS, we filled the Liv og Røre venue in Ålesund municipality from one side to the other with TCG traders, collectors, players and Pokémon & One Piece enthusiasts of all ages, for a day full of social gathering and fun activities. In total 1,200 visitors showed up throughout the day, and it was an unforgettable experience showing us once again how easy – and important – it is for people to gather around a common interest. Thanks to everyone who helped make the event possible!

Metizport & Komplett against child cancer

Over the past six years, our partner Komplett.no has organized the fundraising campaign “Gamers Against Childhood Cancer” (“Gamere mot Barnekreft”).

With a 52-hour livestream combining gaming with challenges, prizes, familiar faces, a good dose of craziness, and immense generosity from what is arguably Norway’s most loyal customer base, the goal is to raise as much money as possible through purchases and donations – funds that go directly to the Norwegian Childhood Cancer Society (Barnekreftforeningen).

Last year, for instance, 1.6 million NOK was raised, and in total Komplett has collected 14 million NOK for research into childhood cancer! This year Metizport’s CEO Arjan and Commercial Director Herman had the pleasure of hosting the broadcast for six whole hours. In total, 2 million NOK was raised over the whole livestream.

“We are incredibly proud to have a partner like Komplett backing us. Every year, they invest both time and resources to make this campaign possible. At the same time, the vast majority of contributions come from individuals watching the broadcast. Some have even saved up money for an entire year just to be able to contribute. That is true dedication!”

Another good deed!

Metizport has helped Ørsta municipality in Norway with equipment for a new gaming room!
The intention with the room is for it to be a shared space for the school and health services. A place for learning, socializing and mastery. The school will use the room to develop digital talent and work with programming. Here, young people can explore technology, be creative, and build skills based on their own interests.

For the health services, the room serves as a place to connect with youth, build relationships and address various challenges. Through gaming they aim to create an inclusive meeting space where everyone can experience a sense of belonging.

Metizport’s gaming chairs adorn the new gaming room

Long term there will also be various events hosted here, like gaming nights and evenings for parents. These events will be organized in collaboration with Metizport! We’re very happy to support such important work. These kinds of initiatives will always be the backbone of Metizport.
