Open CS2 qualifiers are often rough and unforgiving, with several consecutive best-of-one matches and if you lose one of them, you’re immediately eliminated. That didn’t stop our Counter-Strike team this weekend though, as they plowed through the entire qualifier and are therefore locked in for the Closed Qualifier for Stake Ranked Episode 6, a $100,000 LAN in Barcelona next month.
With a 13-3 victory in Round 2, a 13-6 in Round 3, 13-8 in Round 4, 13-10 in Round 5, and lastly, a 2-1 win in the qualifying match of Round 6, the boys are now one step closer to the Spanish LAN event. They will have until the 19th next week to prepare for the Closed Qualifier, featuring four qualified teams (with Metizport being one of them) and twelve directly invited. It will have a remarkably higher level of competition than the Open Qualifier, and only the top 2 teams will make it through to Barcelona.
Thanks everyone who cheered us on yesterday on the livestream!
