SEIDER and co. one win from Playoffs after dream start in VCL 2025 Upper Swiss
July 17, 2025
The VALORANT team is one best-of-three win away from making it to Playoffs and top 8 in VCL 2025 NORTH//EAST after winning their first two matches with ease.
Danish 24-year-old Mathias “SEIDER” Seider and his squad competing in VALORANT Challengers 2025 were forced to start in the Lower Swiss Phase in the third and last Split of the online league after getting eliminated early last Split, only making it to top 16. The team retreated to recover and find stable ground again afterwards, with Turkish Burak “burzzy” Özveren getting moved to the bench to leave place for a new fifth, Nikolas “Czester” Zarow.
In between Split 2 and 3, the squad traveled to Jönköping for Glitched Invitational 2025, an offline tournament they ended up winning after seamlessly beating Formulation Gaming 2-0 in the Grand Finals. The day after, they all headed to Göteborg to undergo a one-week bootcamp at Alliance’s headquarters.
With high spirits after the victory in Jönköping and a productive bootcamp, few people doubted in Metizport’s abilities going into Split 3. But in the Lower Swiss Phase the team had a rough start, winning one match and losing two, finding themselves on the brink of elimination. However, the three matches they had played were all best-of-ones, and now Head Coach Tobias “ShadoW” Flodström and his men had more leeway in the next encounter turning out to be best-of-three. Despite Viktor Zsombor “shinnok” Maglóczki’s internet disappearing completely amidst a heavy storm hitting Hungary which led to ShadoW having to stand in for the 17-year-old sniper, the European troupe still managed to secure the two remaining matches with comfort, deeming them ready for the Upper Swiss Phase the following weekend after beating CTRL Esports 2-1 and Extreme Gaming 2-0.
In the Upper Swiss, which began last Saturday, shinnok’s internet had returned and the crew was ready to get back on the horse. Their first opponent turned out to be Norwegian organziation Bitfix Gaming, a team that also attended Glitched Invitational 2025, finishing 3-4th after losing to Metizport in the semi-finals. Despite looking for revenge in this match they were unable to hold back SEIDER and co., losing 8-13. Metizport went on to the next match two days later, facing off against Enterprise Esports, winners in Stage 2 of both VCL NORTH//EAST and EMEA. In this clash the opponents had little to no chance, with Metizport steamrolling them on Sunset and finishing the map 13-4 after superb performances especially from shinnok. The Hungarian secured an eco-round for the team single-handedly after managing to pick up an AWP from Enterprise at a very crucial point of the match, and the enemies never really recovered afterwards.

As the boys now find themselves in the 2-0 group, they only need to win one more match in order to secure top 8, Playoffs, and a share of the €15,000 in prize money. Their next opponent, which they will face off against in a best-of-three clash, is going to be mix-team FULL BOX 200, a squad that has showed promising form in prior matchups, also having climbed up from the Lower Swiss Phase. This match is set to start on Saturday at 17:30 CEST, and will be streamed here. You can also find it under “Matches” here on the website.
